FAQ
What is the difference between a professional organizer and a housekeeping assistant?
A professional organizer does more than just tidy up your space. They apply organizing principles, create customized storage systems, and teach organizing techniques to help you maintain order in the long run. We work with you to sort through items, ensure progress, and provide follow-up support.
A housekeeping assistant, on the other hand, primarily focuses on cleaning. They can complete their tasks even when you’re not at home, but they do not help with decluttering or space planning.
Why would I need help with organizing my home?
Time is precious. When organizing on your own, you may find yourself simply moving things around rather than actually decluttering. Many people also hit a bottleneck, feel overwhelmed, and eventually give up. In some cases, the situation worsens, affecting both mood and quality of life.
With expert guidance, organizing becomes much more efficient! Our service not only helps you tidy up but also teaches you how to maintain an organized space, so you can spend more time on things that truly matter.
Will you throw away all my stuff?
Of course not! While decluttering is a key part of organizing, we encourage you to keep items that are meaningful, useful, or bring you joy.
We guide you in making thoughtful decisions about your belongings and suggest ways to handle unwanted items. However, the final decision is always yours, so you don’t have to worry about being forced to discard anything.
What is the process of home organizing?
1. Consultation (1–2 hours) – We first assess your home, identify challenges, discuss goals, and develop an organizing plan. You may choose to implement the plan yourself or proceed with our assistance.
2. On-site Organizing (Minimum 4 hours per session) – We help with sorting, categorizing, and storage while designing a functional space layout.
3. Follow-up Support – We provide progress check-ins via WhatsApp, phone, or email to ensure lasting results.
What if my family doesn’t think we need organizing or refuses to declutter?
If your family members feel comfortable with the current space, they may resist change. However, if clutter is affecting movement or creating safety hazards, it’s worth reassessing how the space is being used.
Organizing doesn’t necessarily mean throwing away everything, but if the number of items exceeds the available storage capacity, simply arranging them neatly won’t solve the root problem. If you’re facing this challenge, we can provide a consultation to explore solutions that work for your household.
Will my home be perfectly organized after just one session? Can everyone succeed?
Organizing is an ongoing process, similar to how our bodies go through metabolism. If habits or shopping behaviors don’t change, even after ten organizing sessions, clutter can still return.
We tailor our approach based on your lifestyle and goals, providing an estimate of how much time will be needed. Learning organizing skills helps you stay in control of your space in the long run. Just like losing weight, organizing requires both expert guidance and self-discipline. A mindset shift is key to lasting success!
There are so many books on organizing and decluttering. Why should I hire a professional instead of just reading a book?
Different people have different learning styles. Just like learning to use a computer, cook, or do yoga, reading books is just one way to learn. While self-study is possible, having a professional guide speeds up the process and helps you avoid common mistakes.
In my personal experience, having someone assist you at the start makes a huge difference. If you’ve tried organizing on your own but keep hitting roadblocks, or if you don’t know where to start, working with a professional can help you break through the challenges and achieve better results more efficiently.
Is your home as empty as a showroom?
Not at all! I used to live with my mom, and we both had a lot of stuff. Over the years, through decluttering and organizing, I’ve reached a balanced level of belongings that suits our lifestyle.
A well-organized home doesn’t have to look like a minimalist showroom—it should be tailored to your needs and comfort. (Side note: My home has a lot of orange!)
